Have you been looking for a polish that won't damage your nails or leave them thin and weak after removal?
I have had a few clients new to my salon tell me Shellac has damaged their nails. They disliked the buffing before application, removal with soaking in acetone and even worse using drills! This is only going to damage the nails and make them weaker.
If you have ever experienced this then you did not receive the real Shellac!
Shellac is very different to Gel polish, Shellac is a brand by CND. "what makes it so different?" you ask.
Well it's a hybrid so its half gel and half polish and is referred to by CND as a Power Polish.
CND Shellac has a unique eight-patent formula, and its easy removal with CND Nourishing Remover in 5 minutes which means zero, zip damage.
CND SHELLAC is also 3 free so it does not include Formaldehyde, Toluene or DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate). That means its safer to wear than nail polish.
While similar products mimic what CND created. CND Shellac is also the only non-damaging, long-lasting polish that doesn’t require soaking, filing or roughing of the natural nail
Many women will go to a salon and have enhancements applied thinking this is the only way to go for beautiful nails! Don't get me wrong, they can look beautiful, I use to wear them myself...for many years in fact. Until I started using CND Shellac and realised how beautiful my natural nails were.
I have been working with this product for over 5 years now and it truly is amazing. My client's love the wear (up to 3 weeks in fact) and the best part is they can grow their natural nails with no nail damage. I keep stressing on the "No nail Damage" ladies.
My client Wendy had been wearing acrylic nails for years until we started her on CND Shellac.
" Wendy – I have been having my nails done for many years and it has only since Nicole has been taking care of them I am actually achieving what I have always wanted. She knows her stuff and I trust her completely to treat my nails as they should be treated. Thank you so much Nicole for taking me on as a client. And what a compliment I received from one of the first to see them today after our colour choice. A complete stranger commented how beautiful they were"
Now you can understand why it frustrates me when I hear women say their Shellac/Gel manicure’s have damaged their nails, I have also seen nail damage from Non-Standard Salon with Gel products and procedures they use for removal. The one thing that strikes me the most is my clients didn't really need nail enhancements applied in the first place and CND Shellac gives them enough strength to keep their nails strong. Plus the best part is they can grow their natural nails!
If your looking to grow your own nails. Keep reading so next time you’re in a salon and you want the real CND Shellac with no nail damage you know what to look out for.
And most of all, if it hurts your nails then it's not right, you should never experience any pain when having any nail service performed.... and most of all don't be afraid to ask questions.
Here's some useful info for spotting the correct CND Shellac
When it’s time for removal, CND Shellac should never be filed, peeled or scraped off.
CND have created their own remover called nourishing remover that is acetone-based, but is infused with macadamia and vitamin E oils to condition the nail and avoid damaging it or the surrounding skin.
Removal is easy with Cotton pads soaked in nourishing remover and secured with foil, after 5mins gently scrape off the Shellac with an orange stick.
Please note an orange stick is the only tool that should be used on the natural nails to help remove CND Shellac, anything else will damage the nail plate. E.g. Metal pusher is a BIG NO NO.
No buffing of the top coat is required before applying Nourishing remover nor do you need to buff the natural nail before application of CND Shellac.
Procedure for application of CND Shellac
1. A dry Manicure is performed prior to application to ensure maximum adhesion to the natural nails and Scrub Fresh is used to clean the nail of any oil or dirt.
2. A thin layer of CND Shellac Base Coat is applied and set under a CND UV or LED lamp for 10 seconds.
3. Apply one thin coat of CND Shellac Colour of your choice
4. Cure under CND UV or LED lamp for 2 minutes.
5. Apply a second coat of CND Shellac Colour of your choice
6. Cure under CND UV or LED lamp for 2 minutes.
7. Apply one thin layer of CND Shellac Top Coat
8. Cure under UV or LED lamp for 2 minutes.
9. Remove top film with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol
10. Finishing off with a Cuticle Oil and Hand Cream
11. After your service, you will leave the salon with a gorgeous rich high gloss colour with a mirror finish that will give you up to 14 days of wear.
When receiving a CND Shellac service, you must always have the CND Shellac Base coat and Top Coat applied, otherwise the product will not remove in 5mins without the Base Coat and the Top Coat protects the colour and gives a gorgeous shine last and lasts.
